Free Radio Olympia is an unlicensed, direct action micropower radio station broadcasting at 100 watts on TBA FM in Olympia, Washington, Cascadia. We have been on (and off) the air since March 2001. FRO is committed to providing a service to the community by creating access to the airwaves and bringing unregulated, uncensored media to our listeners in the spirit of free speech and freedom of the press.
FRO Status Update
FRO is reviving from its coma; reconstituting like a T-1000, except friendlier and better looking. No, this is not an April Fool’s Day joke. We really are getting ready to begin broadcasting and streaming again.
But we need your help. Most urgently, we need your rooftop or garage and your discretion. If that sounds like something you are willing and able to offer, please contact us at fro at riseup dot net, or talk to your favorite FRO DJ.
If that doesn’t sound like your cup of grog, don’t despair! Do you have skills you want to share? We will need all the help we can get. Soon we will need friends and listeners, too! Even the laziest pirates can help out by tuning in when the time comes. Keep an eye out for event flyers, scan the airwaves, and check back here for future communiques.

Novick connects different social justice issues and explains how everyone has a stake in the struggle for human liberation. He also lays out the historical progression of settler colonialism in the western United States and how important it is today for people to be self-critical of an internal colonization that misleads people into identifying with their own oppressor. Novick’s approach to community organizing recognizes a common humanity that includes building alliances, self-determination and developing a “total politics” that include all oppressed people and groups.
